Blooming Marvellous

Flowers, gardens and the hidden meanings in art

More than a London tour

My Experience Days bring together expert guiding, carefully chosen places and time to enjoy the experience. Some are offered on selected public dates, while others — particularly those involving a specialist workshop or activity are designed mainly for private groups.

Each day is built around a theme, from art and gardens to colour, style and hidden London stories, with the aim of seeing familiar places from a different perspective.

A day to step away

Life can be busy. My Experience Days are designed as a chance to step away from the every day and spend time looking, discovering, creating and connecting.

Each day brings together fascinating stories and carefully chosen places and, depending on the experience, may also include a workshop, creative activity, lunch or another connected element - with time to slow down and enjoy it.

You don’t need any specialist knowledge or creative experience - just curiosity. Join a selected public date or gather your own private group and enjoy a day that leaves you feeling inspired, refreshed and perhaps seeing London a little differently.

Selected elements of some Experience Days can also be arranged separately for private groups. If you would prefer just the guided tour, walking tour, workshop or another element - or would like to add lunch - please ask. Where possible, I’ll tailor the experience to suit your group.

A Brush with Colour

Colour, creativity and the artist’s palette

Discover the extraordinary story of colour at the National Gallery — from precious minerals and natural pigments to the new colours that transformed the artist’s palette.

The experience will then move from painted colour to the natural world, with a creative garden-inspired element exploring how colour, contrast and texture can be used beyond the canvas.

For private groups, the National Gallery colour tour may also be arranged on its own, with additional elements and lunch tailored to the group where appropriate.

More Than a Pretty Face

Hair, make-up, masks and identity

Explore how hair, make-up, masks and personal style have been used to shape the way we present ourselves - projecting beauty, power, respectability, rebellion and identity. Through a carefully chosen group of portraits, discover what appearance can reveal, and sometimes conceal, about the person behind the image.

For private groups, the gallery experience can also form part of a fuller Experience Day, with lunch and a relaxed feel-good make-up masterclass led by a professional make-up artist, subject to availability.

Be the first to hear about new Experience Days and selected public dates.

Shady Ladies

Scandal, survival and women who broke the rules

Step into Georgian Covent Garden and discover the actresses, courtesans, bawds and ambitious women who lived outside respectable society — and the remarkable ways some of them made money, gained independence or reinvented themselves.

After free time for lunch in Covent Garden, the story can continue in Bloomsbury at the Foundling Museum, exploring motherhood, reputation, poverty and the difficult choices faced by women in Georgian society.

For private groups, the Covent Garden walking tour and the Foundling Museum experience can also be arranged separately. If you choose the Foundling Museum element, an optional afternoon tea in Bloomsbury can be added for a more leisurely finish.

Planning something for a group? Experience Days can be created for friendship groups, birthdays, clubs, societies, corporate gatherings and sophisticated hen parties. Tell me about your group and I’ll suggest the most suitable format.
